what are you planning?

don't forget also, that cossies had tinted glass, heated screen etc.

4x4 have a different panel in the floorpan, but all 4x4 are the same in that respect.

i've had differences in the bolt size on the front anti-roll-bar mounts before as well.

as martin said, non abs bulkheads are different.

sierra's with a/c also have a different bulkhead.

so, a normal 2wd saphire is pretty much the same as a 2wd cossie shell?

the reason i ask is just reshell purposes

all saph cossies did have abs, so it's better to get a donor that did have.

i have fitted abs to a non abs shell, but given the choice i would rather have the right shell.

your best bet, and i know this based on many reshells, is to either have a cossie shell (2wd or 4x4, doesn't really matter for a 2wd installation except for a length of 50mm box required to mount the gearbox x-member), or something like an xr or ghia model as these come with all the electrics already in the car for windows, mirrors, heated screen, abs etc, and with tinted glass.

good luck with the reshell.

What differences are there out of intrest, as I never noticed any when I converted my non abs lxi (the one in my sig btw)

Only thing I had to do to fit the ABS was drill 2 holes at the back for the wiring loom to go through under the seat

iirc, and it was about 5 years ago now that i put abs into an old 3 door 1.6 l shell, it needed a couple of extra holes for the pedal box, and maybe a bigger hole for the actuating rod? i think it should have a strengthening plate as well?
