Default MPG with Greys

Ok then if your running Grey on a typical 400bhp conversion what average MPG should you expect??

And what do you get with your mapping Stu?

A well mapped standard level 8 type scenario wont be very much worse than a standard car although it WILL definately be worse due to load site issues and TFC with injectors over 400CC. It is also highly likely to have transient throttle fuelling issues and flatspot, especially with level 1 and 6.

As for my new system, if you utilise the new closed loop level 8 then it WILL be better than a standard car GUARANTEED and drive just as well as a std car, also GUARANTEED.

As for "dont ask" Why not guys?
Lets face a simple fact here...

Q1) If you can have 80+miles to £10 cruising at 80mph instead of 40miles why would you not be interested? Because your stupid? Rich maybe?

Q2) Have you never met anyone who doesnt take his cossie to teh shows cos he cant afford the juice to get there in it cos hes got bad mapping? Sad way to own an enthusiasts car eh? Cant take it to shows...

Q3) Remember the word/term "Borewash"? It DOES exist in MANY chips and your first clue is poor cruising fuel economy.

Yes i do actually, or as std as the engine will allow under the correct conditions. Injector size is neither here nor there, its ecu resolution that matters.

Rhys.. you will be pleased to know that i offer discounts upon production of your student card

Its only 1p though im afraid..

On the Sapph, the fuel economy is BETTER now it is on lambda control and 750cc injectors than it was on greys with lambda disabled.

stu and kenny mapped mine on greys and lambda and although i havnt actually measured the mpg i know its considerably better than on greens, plus it drives proper on or off boost. as for cost you would recoup the difference between a conventional map and closed loop in a very short period due to fuel economy. why be content with mediocrity when excellence is within reach

mines a L6 on 403's mapped by karl, ive had between 16mpg and 24mpg when ive been bothered to measure it, the 24 was when being run in, the 16 was a 70mile cruise down the motorway to his then the rest of the tank was used when mapping

My own car on 803's does:

School run..8.30am.. grim 10 - 20mph drive only 1 mile there and 1 mile back so engines never even fully warm.. closed loop activates just as i reach teh school normally.. roflol. Returns regular 21.5mpg

shopping etc....
Engine warmed and a reasonable drive out to Preston for shopping or just cruising at night perhaps.. 25mpg.

Motorway at a steady 75-80mph with normal overtaking lane swapping etc etc its 30+mpg

Theres no reason for it to be any less no matter how big i go on teh injectors up to and including 750cc (Not tested bigger..yet)

apart from maybe the cost in the first place (and i have no idea how it compares to non-lambda), i can see absolutely no reason why you would not want lambda control enabled on your engine management.

i get between 10 and 15 per gallon, cause people who cruise with 400bhp and greys are fucking pussies.....

wtf have 400bhp and be worried about the fuel bill....

Mine runs purposily rich as its a track car and want it to last so it aids to cool down the engine through corners and slow down lap

Oil change every 2k so borewash aint ever gonna happen if its even possible to do it, seems like another myth to me tho, bit like oil contaminated turbo's

Roflol.. ask Karl mate
Next person who tells you he gets approx 10-15mpg pull his dipstick and sniff it, then ask yourself "How did that fuel get in the sump? "
