Default what wheels fit E36 M3. im getting confused.......

ive got a E36 M3 and need some new wheels. i cant find any originals to put back on so i was going to bid on some replicas on Ebay.

i know the real ones are wider at the back and the replicas are all the same width but i thought they would fit ok, until i just loked at some for sale and they said fit all E36 apart from M3???

if i put these on will the back will they look rite or will they sit to far in.........

at the moment its got 19s off a new shape m3 and i was told all the wheels are fronts cos the rears are too wide. even if they are reps, all 4 wheels are the same size with the same size tyres and the rears seat fine.

i thought the reps would be ok but this has put a spanner in the works

have the m3 got the rear hubs further in the arch than normal models or do the genuine motorsport wheels have a wide lip but the offset is different....................

any help/advice would be grateful

i have asked this on 2 bmw sites. either they dont know(i know if it was a ford question you guys would have answered it within a couple of minutes) or they just dont like me cos of my sig on a bmw website

M3 did have a staggered set BUT only the evo version :

Non evo : Normal silver with motorsport around the center.

Evo : Recognised M3 wheel was only standard on the cab, they were an option on the coupe and 4 door. They are polished and laqured and dont say motorsport.

I would tell you the sizes but I dont have the links I need on this this computer - remind me on Monday.

Your 19's are all fronts or copies.

Have you asked on BM3W ? Generally seem to be a helpful bunch ?

P.S. theirs nothing wrong with your sig for a BMW site

About halfway down. I wont comment unless I know or have read it somewhere.

If I had more time on my dinner I would post more info.

Cheers,

Dont know what countries they are talking about, but all M's here have staggered rims. Mine is non evo 100% original and has them, as does my mates and everyone that I see. I even have the M brochure stating the same

Have a look on here for sizes and offsets :

http://www.realoem.com/bmw/partgrp.d...33&hg=36&fg=15

The above search was based on a 98 but if you fool around with the options it seems that regardless of style or width (standard or staggered) the offset is 41mm.

So your choice seems to be :

A) 4 off 7˝ x 17” et 41 with 235’s OR
B) 2 off 7˝ x 17” et 41 with 225’s & 2 off 8˝ x 17” et 41 with 245’s

Hope this helps.

If that’s true and if the car in your sig is your own then why does it have clear indicators and the later grill ?

Cant believe were bickering about BM’s on a ford forum

Cheers,

WD

yes KEV im trying to sell them but they need 2 tyres . i just went to the tyre place and the w**kers reckon the 2 i ordered are stuck on the motorway.......... i reckon they forgot. so as it stands at this moment in time thewheels are for sale as they are needing 2 tyres but if i get the tyres 2moro or the next day i will leave them on it cos its for sale at the moment. my number is 07796072993 if you need me mate

i just rung bmw and they said the only bmw with stagged hubs is the E46. the later m3s on e36 and all evos have wider rear wheels but the offsets aer the same all round or when ever you put different wheels on a M3 the rears would either stick out or be tucked in to far.
