Skyline R33 GTR ??
How expensive are these compared to an escort cosworth in all aspects of owning one?
Also do they have/get many problems?
Still trying to work out which car would be best

Check out: skylinesaustralia.com
Talking to the owner about it (a good mate), he has owned it for over 2 years and other than servicing every 5000kms, the only real expense has been on upgrades.
Never driven an Esc Cos but this thing goes really well and feels much more refined than my cossie did.

I've just moved over to an R33 GT-R after owning a Stg3, Big Turbo Escort Cosworth for 5 years.
Fuel wise, the Skyline drinks it likes there's no 2moro!! The parts for a Skyline also cost alot more than a Cossie. Ł1000+ ish for an HKS Intercooler! Reliabilty is more in favour of a Skyline than a Cossie however I think, and my GT-R doesn't seem to go in a big huff after a good booting like Cossie would!
imo, my GT-R drives much nicer than my old Cossies, sounds nicer, looks nicer and goes better too!
Both really nice cars mate, love em both - but I'd say go get a GT-R!

But if your spending 1000quid on a HKS intercooler you daft, as the big thing with GTR stuff is shopping around and doing your research.
My GTR intercooler is about 2 inches thicker than the biggest HKS one and i got it made for 550quid

I rang Abbey a few months ago for a price for a HKS Intercooler and was well surprised when I got the "Ł895+VAT" quote! As I said - rang a couple of other tuners near me which supply HKS parts and got the same quote!
Who's the best/cheapest when it comes to GT-R parts then?

A car from a known member of the GTR reg or GTROC is a pretty safe bet.
