green or red camcover....when???
some here in the netherlands keep saying the saph 4wd with the green camcover, CATS and lambda's was sold from 1990....i thought the first ones came from 92....i thought the saph 4wd with the red camcovers where before 92 from 90 without CATS and lambda sensors...
who can help me out here...

Saph 4x4 engines were produced from late 1989-1992:
YBJ = RED cam cover - this was the Euro 1504 emisions specification engine.
YBG = GREEN cam cover, these later spec engines conformed to the stricter US 83 emisions standard.

The 4x4 saff's whit Green Top (US 83) are build from 1990 till the end of the saff's in 1993. But, ONLY for the dutch (and an other country) marked.
In the UK, Germany, Italy, Belgium etc. the saff's from 1990 till 1992 got a Red Top engine (1504).
The 92-spec saff's (with the facelift dash) got standard a Green Top (US 83) engine.
And, i've got this:

) :

I can't read dutch 80% of the dutch-people can speak AND read english...so...it's time for you english people to learn some dutch
But, i'll translate a piece:
"The Sierra RS Cosworth 4x4 is available in 2 different designs. These different designs comply with a request of the US 83 or the 15/04 issue-standard."
(it's written december 1989, so it may be clear that the US 83 model is made from 1990 till 1993
)
