Default Taking orders for Fixit kits

These are the big tooth gear kits PROVEN to take in excess of 700bhp. Unfortunately at the moment it still uses a standard first gear, but the new Fixit first gear when it becomes available will retro fit. This means it would be unwise to use in a drag car at present (even though some standard gears have lasted 100 launches with big power and these gear kits, some have only lasted 5 - I think it depends on the driver ).

Price is £2600 delivered for gearkit only. Bernie charges approx £800 (which includes shot-peening and polishing) to install in a customer supplied casing (check prices with him, as these were from 12 months ago).

The ratios are slightly taller and slightly closer ratios in the lower gears, so is ideally suited for track work allowing you to stay in the power band more easily.

Standard ratios and speeds achieved @ 7500rpm with 225/40 x 18s and standard final drive.
1st is 3.61 = 43mph
2nd is 2.08 = 74mph
3rd is 1.36 = 114mph
4th is 1.00 = 155mph
5th is 0.83 = 186mph

Fixit ratios and speeds achieved (same as above)
1st is 3.00 = 52mph
2nd is 1.99 = 78mph
3rd is 1.33 = 116mph
4th is 1.00 = 155mph
5th is 0.825 = 187mph

Please note that the speed figures have been rounded up or down accordngly.

Deposit of £500 required to secure one. Delivery ETA 4-6 weeks.

What they look like after Bernie has 'peened and polished them.

Forgot to say that this is a LIMITED run and once these are sold, another batch won't be produced for quite a while .

When will the first gear be available, and is it included in this price? How much extra if not....

As Bill.... ??

and will it still be possible to have the chain shortened/step off gears fitted so that the final drive is 3.9 instead of the standard 3.6 ?

Cheers Mike

Bill,
I would say that the first gears will be available early part of next year (but that is dependent on Bjorn pulling his finger out and he is renowned for not doing this in a timely fashion ), and as I said, they can be retro-fitted. Anyone who purchased one of these boxes now would get the new first gear at cost when it became available.

The step off to convert to a shorter ratio would be like doing a standard gearbox....

Syncro, semi helical, and slightly noisier than the Quaife big tooth kit. NOTHING like a dog box .

Renowed for not pulling his finger out?
He got his full fist up there so he got a hard time pulling it out thats for sure.

Scenario.
Order parts and get told it will take two weeks.
Phone back after three weeks and get told it will be ready the week after.
Call back another week later and get told it will take another week.
Repeat that until 18 months have passed and you might see your stuff.

Note im not slagging his parts as they are great its just too bad he got more profitable things to sell so very little time to produce gears.

Dom,
AJ wasn't that impressed with your sucking, so I think I'll give it a miss .

I have two ordered so far. I believe the amount left is now in single figures from the 19 being built.

Am I the only order so far Mike Thought people would be biting your arms off!

This is a fairly cheap, super strong box that is usable on road and track. Fit and forget for cars under 700bhp

Exactly the same. I run 3.9 final drive on the Quaife set up now and will continue to do so with the Fixit. Makes the car much punchier if you ask me

Dom,
You CAN still launch it, and as I said, it has taken 100+ runs in some cases, it just depends on how abusive you are . It's just you have to appreciate, at the moment the first gear / main shaft (not to be confused with input shaft) is still standard, so these tems CAN still break, so I personally wouldn't recommend drag starts with a car running over 500bhp until these bits are replaced with the uprated Fixit items early part of next year.

The Quaife at £1k extra still does not gaurantee a bullit proof set up as Doug, Martin and Lee will tell you .

Lee,
Not intended to . However, feel free .
