Default need help with a decision

im being offered a job which will give a salary of £23000 plus 20% shift enhancement, so a total of £27,600 per year.
to travel to my new job will cost me £2000 a year

Im on at the moment £23,400 but no shifts, so no enhancement, but i only live 3 mile away so not really any cost but lets say £600 a year in travel bills ie:fuel

So would you change jobs for approximately for roughly £130 after tax a month ??

Ive asked the "new" boss for another £2000-£2500 extra and for him to get back to me on this...which would mean £250 minimum extra after tax per month to me

the new job means i give up 19 years in my old job and the position of team leader, the holidays and pension are pretty much the same and cancel each other out, so it boils down to raw cash.......

what would you do ????

cheers
steve

thats a tough one mate!

its easy to go grab the most cash but the loyalty and convenience of current job has got to be worth something? Have you asked current boss about prospects and pay rise?

current boss gave me another 5% 2 weeks ago to make me up to £23,400 but now there is no where for me to go in the way of prospects

ok, you asked,,,,, i make areospace thread rolling dies which we make to a tollerance of 3 parts of a thousanths of an inch or .0003",in lamen terms, these make the fasteners that hold your areoplanes together, there are only 3 more companys in the uk that make them, that would put me very high up in the "skilled" department for this job,yes i should be paid millions but im not,
