just been for a test drive.. all seems ok.. no leaks... brakes spot on but....
massive backfire when at about i guess 4000 rpm
any reason why? what would cause this? incase ive overlooked aything?
wont be plugs, leads or dizzy as its all new
been dyno mapped so not a timing issue..
its getting fuel
cheers

Dave i suspect you are hitting a limiter as you have a problem that the ECU doesnt like.....P8 with the lastest version software does this
..obviously all you sensors are working as your moniter will tell you that...is it lamda controlled if so make sure that working also check you are not overboosting..

fuel pressure is fine, just been set by harvey
map is plugged in
crank and phase should be ok.. had a look.. no probs there
Interesting re: the P8 Phil.. it is indeed like im hitting a limiter. What would be the cure though? and surely it would have done this on the dyno?
not running lambda control either

Dont think the chip jhas a running in map... but could be overboost limiter as per stus suggestion of max boost,
Just unscrew the fittings from Air to Air then screw them together, this is what I had

With the greatest of respect, maybe you should pay a pro to get her running properly Dave. Looking at your resto thread, youve got 10s of Ł000s on that setup now and you could EASILY have run 50+psi the way you disconnected those air injectors. Not to mention the 6000rpm cold starts with your ALS you mentioned elsewhere

Like i say, not a dig, maybe just time to let a pro finish what looks to be a properly decent specced escort.

Take it to a pro even if you think you are capable of the work!
As Stu said you have spent X amount of money to get what you have and now risking it by guessing at this and that. IMO!
