Default DTA managment..........

This is not a for sale post, I just need a rough idea of what the basic ecu is worth? as I might have to go another route on managment.

Cheers lads.

Unfortunately I have to agree. I have played with an EXP48 and found it a bit of a chore having to unlock the map, alter a few settings and then set off again only to pull over again and play a bit more.

The dyno knobs box should make it a lot easier though.

very true , the only way to live map the system in real time is with the dyno box, and still is not 'really' user friendly. makes it even worse is that this unit is on a bike

pectel software is much nicer - you agree daz ?

I think thats the problem my tuner has come across today on the dyno, it seems it would take a considerable amount of time to map it properly, and dyno times not cheap!!

My experience was in a stripped out smell Nova rally car so at least I could sit down even if I was a little deaf afterwards!!

Without the dyno box, it's a c unt! Either get a dyno box off Matrin at MEFmotorsport (look in the trade section for his user name) or get it on Ebay! The dyno box will reduce dyno time.

There is this on Ebay...

There was a Motec system on there earlier but it must have ended.

Martins box, to make live mapping easier.

Can't you get someone who is used to mapping DTA to go to your dyno ?

Just sounds like you are going to someone who isnt equipped for or experienced enough with DTA

Not really a fault of the ECU that your local dyno guy isnt skilled with using it.

Just out of interest how much is that control box??

Gone for pectel now, mainly for ease and getting the job done. Waited long enough for various reasons and cant be arsed to wait again. Hoepefully engine should be mapped by tommorrow night, just gotta bolt it in the car and get it tweeked.

My issue with DTA is you never really know where your at with the bloody sidemaps on a turbo car and that to me makes it quite dangerous unless your willing to swop back and forth...

Thats the problem my tuner had with it, therfore it would have taken alot of expensive time to fully map it safely.

Fingers crossed the mapping on Pectel will go straight forward.

i have a DTA pro 8 ecu in my escos, thats coming out in favour of an Omex system. mainly because the omex is a lot easier to work with & we specalise in it were i work
as for price, i have a buyer for my pro 8 ecu, loom ect for £500.
