driveshaft help needed please

Default driveshaft help needed please

hi people,
the o/s/f driveshaft gave up on my escos today i have removed the outer from the hub but i am really struggling getting the other end out.. is there a special way to do this ? and what is the notched section around the outside of the shaft that has a 13mm bolt holding it in place?

please help this is doing my head in

duno about a cossie but on most cars ya just have 2 lever the fuckers out or use a slide hammer

you will have to drop the plate off the diff mate as there is a sirclip inside the diff which holds the inner joint in just make sure you have a bucket handy to catch the diff oil.

got the shaft out now

How much play if any should be in the front diff ? i know there is gonna be some because the shaft is out but even if you put pressure on that side of it there is still play there!

is it advisable to put the circlip back in ?

sorry for all the dumb questions but i feel a bit out of my deapth on a 4x4, i'm used to fwd...

Thanks for all help given it's very appreciated..

oh yeah how much oil do i need to put back in the diff... and whats the best stuff??

While your at it make sure the OSF Rubber Engine Mount isn't fuked this causes the shaft to move about more than it should thus destroying the CV joint
