If it runs fine and is fine under full load then i see no reason to change the plugs, even though .9mm sounds a little wide.
If you do change them then a set of .6mm 071s is a good place to go, if for no other reason than they are at a "disposable" price.

...well i wonder if the MSD chip will like the 071's....not put the chip in yet as i got to sort out the earth/wiring issues first to ensure i get correct running as apparently the chip is very sensitive to ANY faults whatsoever

Run 071s with that 29psi software or you run a very real danger of exceeding the plugs temperature threshold and losing pieces of those PP8's into your pistons.
071s gapped at 0.65mm and she will run fine with 0.3% CO at idle if the engine is ina good state of health. Any problems, please call me Phil.
