Default Can an untaxed/SORN'd car be kept on a trailer on the road?

As above really. Just want to know as it would be so much easier for me as if I go ahead and start building a Cossie on my street (little cul-de-sac) I don't know how I could possibly tax a shell!

If it can be sat on a trailer then I will buy a trailer and keep it on that as it's not actually in contact with the road is it?

Cheers folks

Yes it can providing the trailer is attached to a taxed vehicle.

you arent allowed to just park a trailer on its own though, the road is for vehciles not storage.

Shit..... I guess I could always attach it to a car when I come home and park up then lol.

If I had a brush with the law I could always say I had to rush off somewhere urgent but only leftthe car a short while.

I may sell the cabby and buy an Escort or Mondeo estate then in the near future with a towbar fitted.

How much am I looking at for an adequate trailer for a Saff?

comes under the act for anti social behaiviour i belive ( does where i live anyway )

basically you cant or people would buy storage containers and park them on the road as a private garage

cant take the wheels off like before too as the act of anti social behaiviour and dumping of cars

Hmm.... still, I might take the risk. As I mentioned in another post there is a car next to my house that has needed moving for 2 years and no action has been taken! Might just put it on the little grass area with a cover over it if I have to. My street is tucked away nicely and it would never be noticed unless people started kicking off big time.

the problem with neighbours is that once the other car is moved and your one is there they know who's car it is, and once the neighbours complain the council knows where to send the fines to.

neighbours are funny fuckers.

not true, car tax people are customs and excise, it aint like a parking ticket mate, they have more rights than the old bill,,,,,,,, oh adn the old bill cna remove the covers too as when i was a traffic warden we had to use the old bill to remove covers THEN issue a ticket, plus the owners got done for covering there reg unlawfully

passionford legal team need to learn a bit more about all the rules

I might see if I can find anything out from the council about local lockups actually. I'd not even thought of it before. There's loads of those concrete garage type things round my area. Would want one in the middle of a few others tho as end ones always seem to get a hole smashed thru the side!

Who do I speak to from the local council regarding this sort of thing? Is there a specific department?

How do you cover the roof? With what?! Sorry if that sounds dumb, just not sure how you mean lol.

I'll go down the housing office then and see what they say in the next few weeks as I might buy a shell at the end of October and try and get something built in time for summer (don't fancy learning about high powered RWD in winter )
