Help, towing a car trailer with van
Hi, going to look at a 3 door end of the week? Was planning on taking a trailer on the back of my transporter t5, now somebody said I'm only allowed to tow 750kg, I've read on the net that if you had your licence between 1997 and 2014 like myself you can tow up to 3500 kg inclusive of the tow vehicle, trailer and car? Now the transporter has a unladen weight of 1800kg and a 3 door cosworth apparently weighs 1205 does that mean I have 500kg for the trailer and persons travelling, any advice would be appreciated, steve

I trailer my 3 door in my t5 and it's fine mate mines the 2.5 model so it pulls and drives nicely but if you've got the 1.9 you'll be ragging it abit to get it up to speed but still fine to tow!

weather it pulls well or not has sod all to do with it if the trailer and car weight don't fall with in the vehicle man weight. 9 out of 10 coppers won't care or no but visa will and do stop trailers also if your in a crash and the coppers who do know what there doing turn up or again vosa your end up in trouble
