Default Whoops! Got pulled doing 100

:

Was late for work so giving it some throttle and noticed a black bimmer in the rear view.

Kept going. Not driving like a twat, waiting for people to get out of the way, not tail gating or anything.

Looked again, bimmer is still there.

Carried on went to pull off for my exit and bang on come the lights

Cop: "Whats the hurry?"

Me: "Late for work."

Cop: "Gonna be even later now, so you aint achieved nothing."

Me:"Yes officer."

Cop: "Do you know how fast you was going?"

Me: "Erm.... very officer."

Cop:"Well I clocked you at 100."

Me:"Yeah I thought you might have."

Cop:"How many points do you have on your licesnse."

Me: "Six"

Cop: "All for speeding?"

Me:"Yep."

Cop:"When did you get those."
Me:"Two years ago."

Cop: "You know doing 100 I would have taken you to court for that?"

Me:"Yep"

Cop:"Well your lucky I'm up here to get my speedo calibrated and I had none of my equipment on or I would have taken you to court. Now be on your way and SLOW DOWN."

Phew!!! Two times lucky in as many weeks serves me right for being a twat.

you sure he was only saying that as he never belived that a xr2 was possible to do 100mph so assumed it must need calabrating

sometimes i think we forget just how fast we all travel and what the real law is as usually when im in the cossie i do 120 all the way to bicester without thinkingas it dont feel fast

but if i got a tug im sure i would rememeber

Weren't you meant to say the beemer was in the R/H lane
So now, coppers are allowed to openly break the law (e.g. not driving in the correct lane) to catch other people ??? Surely they were driving dangerously themselves.... No surprise they don't clamp down on lane hoggers...
Was following a golf up a slip road onto the M4 the other day, M4 was pretty clear, as soon as we got on there, Golf is straight into middle lane, inside and outside lanes were clear.
Two minutes later, the golf is up someone's backside in the middle lane, inside and outside lanes still clear..... No intention of overtaking, just sat there !!!!
I just don't get these people

Don't do motorways much (nearest one is 200 miles away) but when going to ND at 7am the M1 was virtually empty. I was the only one in the inside lane.
Almost every car I did see though was driving in the outside lane of an empty motorway and some were going slower than me.
Had to laugh.
