FAO All The Experts , Help Needed
My mate has converted his saff into 4wd and he is getting a wobble from the front end , he has new 2.9 XR 4x4 shafts in and was informed by PJ Motosport that they are fine, thinks it may be a gearbox mount , can anyone shed any possibilities on this, Bosch Man , Chip etc .....all the Techies your help would be greatly appreciated

what sort of wobble?
a scary doesn't go round corners sort of wobble?
which ARB has he used and what washers on the compliance bushes?
I'm having an issue with having the wrong washers on the end of the ARB at the minute, and am also aware of a problem with 2WD arbs and 4wd cars (it changes the handling rather scarily)

The gearbox top mount can go but it only normally creates a knocking sound going over bumps...
...are they brand new shafts? A knackered CV joint can cause wobble.

I would go with CV joint straight away, especially with the symptoms you've described and the fact the noise goes away once moving (a damaged CV will make the shaft work elliptically rather than symetrically, i.e: throws it out of balance, causing it to wobble).
Put it on full lock (L and R) and turn the car around - if it knocks on one side you've solved the problem.
