what did joe do to the engine and what proof do you have other than someone telling you joe built it and as for parts in engine what was wrong with them?or are you just going by what you where told again?after building a f1 engine a yb is like lego bricks to put together so i dont think joe could make to much a mess out of a yb

Im not trying to put anyones work down as i said.

How do i know Joe built it ? does having a fair few receipts and it having Bluesmoke motorsport on the back not suggest that he was somewhat involved ?

To be honest matey, it was like lego bricks cos it kept falling apart !!

NO is the honest answer.... its easy to switch an engine or any of its components before selling a car.

Sorry matey, but i think thats highly unlikely !!

So having receipts for over 4k from Bluesprint Motorsport doesn't give you the slight hint he may have done the engine ?

Richie Russ, I know this may come as a shock But there are some dishonest people out there

I have never heard a bad thing about Joe Stevens and just because you have some receipts and a sticker on a SECOND HAND car doesn't make me change my opinion.

Do you know that the engine in the car matched the engine the receipts were for? PEOPLE LIE WHEN SELLING CARS!!! Especially old Cossies

4k doesn't buy that much either does it! its hardly a full on custom rebuild installed with all new parts, mapped and installed from Bluesprint does it???

Say the old fuel pump failed, or an old injector failed... your engine dies and then your new 'tuner' says all the bits are pony and you need to spend loads of money... and just to make sure you spend it with him and not Bluesprint he slags them off...

With your attitude, i wouldnt let you build me a wigwam to be honest, let alone an engine with your remarks !!

I have got the invoice at home and if you want me to scan and post it up on here i will, not a problem, i also spoke to Joe when the car blew up and he remembered doing it.

Like i keep saying, i wasn't slating anyones work, in my opinion, you pay for what you get, going cheap is not ALWAYS the best option.

Dishonest maybe, but that stupid though ?

Fair play Porkie, but i called the chap that owned the car before me and he even told me that Bluesprint had built it not too long ago (it had done just 12k miles but may have been driven very hard and not looked after).

It did have a full rebuild afaik, i will dig the invoice out

Only if f1 engines run 100 bar oil pressure, or hasnt he told you about that?

My attitude is fine, you clearly read what you want to read and nothing else from your posts so far.

Anyhoo, rather than get into a slating match, i called the chap who previously owned the car as you do and asked him a lot about it, including WHO did the engine, which was Bluesprint M. The fact that it didnt last 5 minutes may be down to the fact it was driven too hard and generally abused, i wasn't holding the engine builder responsible, i merely pointed out that the person that inspected and pulled apart this engine fell about laughing at the state of it and the parts used.

I hope you now understand my point !!!

Why do people keep saying, ''how do you know what was used ?, i bet you cant find your receipts !, how do you know Joe rebuilt it ?'' i know because i have all the information on the receipts i have from when it was done

I agree for 4k it maybe pretty crappy, but seeing as someone on here was saying that they can get theirs done for little more than that (iirc) then its not too bogus of him is it ?

He can have as much experience as the next man, i am not debating that as im trying to explain

I believe it was a 'freshen up' as you put it, i'll have to dig out the receipt for it if i can be bothered.

Also, my neighbour worked at Brands as a head mechanic in the rally school working on Cossies day in and day out, so he knows his stuff and is currently building an Escort Cos from scratch, do you know what the first thing he said to me when he first saw my Escort ?

Bloody hell, no wonder its broken down, its got Bluesprint on the back of it, that'll be coopers rings and a shoddy rebuild, like i say, i have had no dealings with Joe and can only say what people tell me

You will always have people having difference of opinions thats what makes life interesting is it not,

We are all aware that every tuner has at some stage had an engine let go and an engine that people rave about, it's the nature of the beast, it does not look to me like this guy is here purely to slate Joe he is only saying what happened in his experience, like alot of people have recently done about ABC remember...........................

Theres good and bad in everybody and everything
People read things in different ways and interpret things in very different ways... and sometimes do not always post every little details which other users look for, we are all guilty of it at some stage you can not be arsed to write for ages so just summarise

surely the point of a forum is to express your views and see if other people have had similar experiences?

How can you be sure if you dont find out, and ask other people for there opinion?

He is telling us what other people have said, and we can make a judgement if we want.

Oh no your back again why the hell would i say what i am saying, for fun ? i have no reason to slate anyone, just going by experiences, thats all.

I was giving my OPINION on what work had been done to my car by Bluesprint, whether Joe himself built the engine or not, i don't know, but of course it is likely.

Oh and its Richie Russ

My cossie engine was done by Bluesprint and survived some serious abuse, seemed to be very very well made.

Only had one issue, and that was when the oil pressure release valve failed and caused ultra-pressure, bursting the oil filter and fucking the first engines bearings.

But cant see that being a Bluesprint issue as theyd not have touched the pump, just a manufacturing fault.

Id not hesitate about going back there for another engine.
