Gareth Lloyd - lucky (talented) bastard!
Gareth got a drive for a top flight endurance team and they only went and finished 2nd in class at the recent Nurburgring 24 hour race . A fact that so pleased the team / sponsers, that they should be doing the Barthurst 24 hour now as well . I've already bagsied the space in his suitcase .
You'll also see Smelly Felly, who went to watch and got roped into spannering - poor little boy got all tired out .

Testing the future
went to watch that. pissed it down. was good to have hostility from honda though - free food and drink all weekend long
it was on motors tv last night - was cool to see the nordschleife from different angles instead of just through the windscreen.

Loving that picture of John
Best take those pictures of the BMW off though coz if Renton sees them he is going to be outside chopping bits out of his BMW and sticking bits of fibreglass on before you know it!

PMSL Thanks Mike.
It was a brilliant weekend, obviously knackering too, but well worth the loss of sleep for. I have been involved in racing for a long time but never a 24hr race so when i was able to help out i jumped at the chance, MIMS are a great team so it was a real priviledge to be involved with them thanks to Gareth. It's a hell of an acheivement to finish, never mind so high up the order, especially in those conditions. The last pit stop and stint was very tense in particular as there was a hell of a battle going on for 2nd.
Gareth did an outstanding drive, especially when he was out on slicks when a rain storm hit, very scary at the 'ring when that happens, lots of cars crashed out trying to make it back to the pits that time. The works Opel team next pit to us looked like a battle zone in particular with 3 new front ends being patched together to keep them running after so many crashes.
If you get the chance, go see the race, it's an amazing sight to see 230 cars start a race! Think of Le Mans and add thousands of german sausage eaters on bitburger for 4 days and you get the idea what the spectator areas look like.
