Not putting it down at all, i work for ford and sure it will be a very good car but i'm just saying that i think 14.5k is a bit steep for a fiesta as is paying even more for a clio!

Well with a few options the current ST is easily over Ł14k

Theres a waiting list for these unless I want the showroom model in ALL 7 dealers I've been to so far

They ditched the xr badge as the insurance companies had killed them by putting the premiums through the roof. ST stands for sports technologies, not sure if xr ever actually stood for anything

Does it really matter what they call it or what model it is... if it goes well and is a good car then well worth the money i say!!

At the end of the day, ford is a household name people feel they can trust, they will be willing to pay for it...

Exactly, mainly due to Auto Express making up 90% of things they put in their shite mag, its unbelivable, its only cause people in the UK are soo gullible they get away with it.

Errr Howe long ago was that?

Thats like Disco Stu on the Simpsons one when he trying to convince Homer into investing in Disco records and goes...
"Did you know sales of Disco records went up 300% between 1977 and 1979, if they trend continues like this, heyyyyyyyyyyyyy "

Some people think that yeah, esp posh goons with no idea of the real world who think cossies are all owned by gyppos, but they wrong.

XRs are generally council estate scrappers.
RSTs are generally sub-21 normalish people.
Cossies are generally working class people who like fast cars.

Theres exeptions to all things, but thats how it is.

thats how it is in your eyes because you know fords. however 90% of the population will look at a sapph cossie and think council estate car, likewise 3dr - they wont even know what it is, its just a sierra with a 'horrid' plastic bodykit, 'how 80's' just like RST's and XR's.

heres another relating to this topic....

"everytime i learn something new, something old gets pushed out of my brain......"

this aplies to the xr2....
the new one,....(if it happens) will cause prices of the old one to drop below their already sub Ł27.50 price tag....

and im not just saying that cause i drive a bm.... ..
cuase thats shit too.....
just kidding, its the best car ive ever driven...its for sale by the way

blah, blah, blah

*edited (as this whole RS vs XR vs ST bickering is just too funny)

who says the XR is dead, just means you need to fook off to another country

there was also a Vauxhaul ST... but Im not sure if it predates the FORD ST or not.

I like my car for what it is, if they had called it an XR24, I still would have bought it.
