The mini-race is such a good idea I think it would have to be non-official i.e. badged as a display, then the competitors could use full slicks, whatever specs they like and the RS500s could be on at the same time as well as invited guests

That would be AWESOME!!

Very interesting idea's

Can they fit a further 30 or so cars / support vehicles/rigs and trailers into the already cramped service area paddock ?

I guess qualifying would have to be on the Saturday to determine start grid positions, then a quick 10 minute open race midday Sunday. Im sure some of the competitors would question is it worth it for them ???

Deffo something different though and always worth looking at.

well who said 10 minutes,

as standard we get 15 minutes qualifing and a 20 minute race which normally would cost use about Ł185,

and you thing the track days bad value for track miles.

most of the cars where there anyway this year as they had an infield display to help premote the ford saloons.

donningtons a lot bigger than it looks.

10 minutes was metaphorical speak

Thought you normally do 2 x 20 minute races Martin ?

As Pon says a proper race day needs bigger organisation, plus MSA approval, Clerk of courses, doctors, fire marshals, safety officers timekeepers, scruitineers, lap counters etc etc.

Hope you pull it off

were people actually getting pulled over by the 2 circuit cars with the blue lights?

was pissing myself at one point as it looked so commical the way the an escos (the one that managed to go out with the RS500's in the afternoon display) came into the pits follwed by one of the cars with the blues on and the bloke got out like a copper and walked over to the escos like he could bloody give him a speeding fine and 3 points!
