Thanks for posting this up RichM

It's a good review..........also they have nominated my V2 for this years awards "Best Compact Loudspeaker" catagory............dont know how it will do - as it's the toughest market sector. A LOT of very good small speakers out there, and ALL of them are produced in the UK

Terry, was nis surname "Woodman" ???

I knew Bill Woodman at ATC - actually he founded the company, came over from Australia and in those early days (80's) made PA drive units first of all.....he got into studio mointoring/hi-fi speakers a few years later.

How did you rate them Doug? oppinions seem to vary from the best speaker ever made to the worst
I like LINN Kan's very much They have a mid forward ballance (peak in the mid band response) that gives the KAN's that unique up front/exciting and "fast" sound. Only problem is that in the "wrong" system they can be quite "shouty" sounding

My new LS3/5a V2 uses the same Scanspeak tweeter but with phase correction and extra dopeing (mechanical damping).........but the Stirling V2 has a completely defferent ballance to the LINN KAN's..........smoother with better imageing/depth, and as a bonus the V2 is a LOT less amplifier fussy

ANYBODY that needs early LINN speakers repairing or NEW replacement drive units - I have good stock of all the drivers: DH-2008 tweeters, the proper Linn version (as used in KAN/SARA/Isobarick), KEF SP-1003 mid/bass drivers (KAN & Iso's) and KEF B-139 bass units (Iso's).

Any info on a Tweeter upgrade i read about for the Isobariks? alot of people spoke highly of it but i cant find any more info, i think that scottish guy (who's name i've forgot ) has something to do with it?
Matt, his name is Ivor Tiefenbrun......IMO that "stock" version of the tweeter that Linn use (Scanspeak DH-2008) just needs some damping to tame it's resonance peak (19.5 KHz )............better to do it by mechanical means like on my version (extra coating of PVA dope applied to the diaphram - can only be done properly from the factory)......works really well Linn mod the crossover but that's a bit of a bodge as it causes problems/side effects further down in the audible part of the responce (12 kHz ish).

Great article Doug.
I have a Kef Ref Uni-Q setup with a mixture of Tag/Audiolab amps but a Meridian setup is coming one day.
