Secret just makes you look special, like youve done some real research into your cams, when in reality you dont really understand the effect of different lift and duration on turbo engines and just used some off the shelf ones that seem to work well
"Secret" Zetec turbo cams usually means standard 130PS ones

I always chuckle to myself when I read posts like this.
The honest truth amongst all tuners is you will find that for most "normal conversions" i.e. conventional 400bhp conversions etc you will find there are plenty of off the shelf cams that are adequate.........e.g. K2's, BD15's,16's etc. For these applications where hydraulic followers are adequate then it is the combination of these cams and the timing that is kept secret so that Joe BLogs on the street can't benefit with the knowledge for free!
However on all engines that I build that are 450bhp+ it is rare that I use off the shelf cams. Many of my engines run solid lifters and for these there are no "off the shelf profiles". In addition there are no suitable "off the shelf cams for engines with std pistons i.e. no valve cut outs, and for these engines I again developed my own hydraulic profile to improve on the std BD8 but prevent valve/piston contact.
Thus for people to think that tuners really don't have their own profiles is rediculous!!!
I for one always chat with Martin about cam profiles when we meet up, and can assure you that we both run can profiles in our engines that are vastly different from what you can buy over the counter and we certainly are'nt going to give that info away at any cost as it's taken time and money to evolve these profiles!
Hope that helps break the myths!!

Someone like newman will grind you cams to whatever spec you want for a couple of hundred quid a stick but its the knowledge as to what to ask to have grind thats kept quiet.
