Default Who sells Exhaust diverter valves?

Anyone know a source for exhaust diverter valves? The 4 inch system I have fitted sounds like a cannon and I want the option of reducing the output at the flick of a switch/lever rather than having to pullover then cram a baffle into the tailpipe.
Only ones I can find are Marine ones except for the HKS EVR and the ATP
valve both of which are not big enough.

you wont ever silence a 4" pipe no matter how many silencers you fit if they r 4"
Unless its a hunderd yards long
The ex diverter thats on that golf def dont work on high boost cars as Rod will tell you tha actuater rod bends like a bannana
Thats why i went for 3.5 inch at least you can silence it down its still fookin noisey though

Its a custom jobbie and all mandrel bent as well. The guy who made it will be offering mandrel bend downpipes/systems very soon but did me a deal as mine was the 1st one he did on his newly aquired computer controlled bender.

Yeah thats why I want a diverter valve so I can have a restrictive but quiet system then flick a switch and get full antisocial power.

Thats true had a replacement under warranty & it bent it just like the first one, so not for high boost cars im afraid. Their biggest one is 3" dia.
My new exhaust is 3 1/2" & is as quiet as my old 3" mongoose.
Rod
ps. Its the speed of comming on boost that bends the shaft & then the butterfly dont shut correctly.

BULLSHIT - my cossie is a 4.25" system and is quieter than standard Just put a real silencer on - as for valves - do they not always get jammed?

Cam, im gonna need a fuckoff 4" system (side exit) built soon.

Downpipe already done.

Cant decide wether to have no silencer, 1 silencer, or split the system into 2x3in pipes and have 2 silencers...

I bet even with 2 silencers itd never make trake DB limits at full boost so may as well just have none

Apexi make a manual plug that will silence your exhaust & that works, its controlled by a cable from inside the car & you manually close it. The one i had was 3" side exit only.

I think I may have found what I was after.

Heard nothing but positive feedback from folk who use them.
Comes in all sizes from 2.5 inch to 4 inch in .5 inch increments.

I lied above anyway after re reading it lol - I meant quieter than the magnex that was on my car seem to think these are standard lol
If I have no back pressure issues like i dont why would it restrict power - this has all been measured?

An effective silencer (so my stereo isn't redundent) loses around 45-50 bhp on my motor according to my tuner so my intention is to have 3 boost settings-

0.6 bar low boost/cruising/economy/pussy mode with a diverter valve adding extra silencing

1.2 bar moderate boost mode with diverter closed/partly open

2.0 bar banzai boost mode to wake corpes'

Cant live the exhaust as it is at moment as standing at rear of car and revving it to 7000rpm is literally painful.

Have run the car with and without exhaust.... guess what? Although different car, different spec etc etc..... think you need a better silencer design.

repeat - If I have no back pressure issues like i dont why would it restrict power?

Luckily - It is bloody quiet So I dont get unwanted attention

My system just has a very skimpy single rear box (4 inch internal and 5.75 inch external) thats 14 inches long hence the need for a valve.

You dont need a diverter then
I am envious!

yeah - I did lose my spare wheel well in the process of fitting a good one though!!! lol but that was also for good ground clearance as i always trashed the magnex on country roads doing jumps

The only 2 positive things with my new system are its unrestrictive and that it has better clearance than the previously fitted HKS 3inch one not that it ever had any grounding problems before.
Ideally a twin pipe system would be the way to go but that would mean butchering Ł4ks worth of carbon fibre undertray....FOOK THAT! LOL so its got to be a valve and a long restrictive silencer for general driving. Main thing is I want something that doesnt involve stopping to alter it.

Fitting more or bigger boxes shouldnt make it any more restrictive in the slightest as long as they have 4in straight thru internals.

Not hard, just more money, as decent silence boxes aint cheap

Or run a twin 3in system, flow just as well and can have 2 boxes per 3in pipe, quiet as.

Like Dumped said, its not just how it has to be, thats sales talk, its how its been designed and how much room you got.

Twin 3 or even 2.75 would have probably been way to go but didn't want to chop undertray.
Design brief was non restrictive for ultimate power and as tight a fitment as possible without catching/knocking.
Going to measure up tomorrow to see what QTec valve(s) would be suitable- either one where the cat replacement pipe is or two with one on each downpipe.
