anything i can get away with like returned for repair so i dont have to pay vat/import duty

if you know some one that lives there get them to buy it and send you it that way you should miss out the import tax

allegedly if theyre marked up as GIFT you will get away with it, but have no personal experience with this tho.

If they are sent as marked as being return for repair you pay no duty.

If they are marked right down on value you pay very little duty.

gift im not sure about

if you have them marked up as "sample" it means no duty either

The best way is to mark the form with gift. I quite often send 'gifts' over to some friends but they're only wee things like a CD or something.

even if its marked as gift its the value of the item they screw you on gifts only allowed to be worth i think it was £30 or there abouts

Cossiecrew is right. A gift can only be worth a certain value - I usually mark the value down but then it isnt insured.
