Default anyone know about fixing tvs?

my tv kept switching itself onto standby and then refused to come off standby!now it doesnt even light up the little red light!(if youknow what i mean??)

my widescreen did that for a few weeks but started working again after a while it caught fire the other day

one tip, DONT touch the 2 prongs at the back of the tube once you take the cover off it as they store lots of electricity and it gives ye quite a shock

get it done by a pro mate,ive got a 32" phillips widescreen and thought i wouldnt be able to get it repaired as it was given to me by an uncle he told me i could have it if i got repaired so i did by a local tv co,they came round took it away, phoned me and said it was the starter,i thought fook me its got a fookin engine innit that was a year ago bin fine ever since>

how much did it cost for the starter to be fixed?(prob seized cause you didnt use a heatshield!!it happened on my S2!! )

My Dell lcd TV kept turning itself off randomly, sometimes would turn straight back on and work, other times it was just dead for a few hours at a time

I just had it replaced under warrenty LOL

sounds like a dry joint,, but saying that it could be anything!

very hard to guess as too why it isnt working whent eh fault is soo simple as that!


and as vroooom ptssssh says,, dotn fooking touch the pins its a big capacitor (one of the best there is)
