just put my stereo and it was playing . started pushin it back in the hole and then POP. stereo turns off. put the keys in the ignition and turned it ........................ nothing. no dash lites or anything. it completly dead. i put my head under the bonnet and pulled out and checked the fuses one by one but all are ok........... wot do i do !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Check the fusible link at the battery...

Check battery voltage and connections are tight...

Check ignition switch is working correctly...

I'm sure I remember someone posting something about their S1 doing the same and it turned out to be the multi plug connection to the ignition switch under the column casing....

work this out ! the AA man just turned up , checked the battery was good. it was. he then said he would probe a few points and see if power was getting anywhere. he probed the alternator, nothing. he then stuck the probe in a fuse , then another and then when he probed the third fuse it all of a sudden come to life!!!!!!!! he aint got a clue what happened.but its up and running. think i mite leave the stereo out for now...........................................

check all wires from ignition barrel etc

probably mate. my mate that had it before only lived in welwyn garden and worked in hatfield! aint as mint as your though mate. saw it ages ago and it looked brand new!!!!!!!!!
