Default Ultima GTR

Anyone know much about these?

0-60mph - 2.7sec
0-100mph - 5.5 sec
0-150mph - 11.8 sec
30-70mph - 2.0 sec

Top Speed - 231mph (gearing limited)

Supposedly, these cars are a second quicker to 150mph than a McLaren F1

and these can be bought in kit form for around £35k-£40k.

Tony,

Did the use of the YB reduce the overall build cost??

Am sure you could build one of these for around the £30k mark

Not if ya want some of the options lol, alcantera is mega money in these and the spoiler is about £3k.

I would only use a v8 personally, yb would look lost i should imagine

You cant beat the sound of a well tuned V8 imo

Agreed. Don't need hissing and whistling when you've got REAL grunty noises.

Yeah, think you are right guys, wouldn't be the same without the V8

The basic build is about £15k + VAT excluding engine and box

BUT on Accessory Page.....

Rear Spoiler = £1650 + VAT
Exhaust = £1760 + VAT
Seats = £800 + VAT
Wheels = £2000 + VAT
Tyres = £1100 + VAT

Think he built the whole thing for the right side of 25k , the engine was out of a GGR Prepped 3dr he had anyway so that saved a few quid ,he dry sumped it , added RS 500 plenum and freshend it up , this was a lot quicker than a V8 powered one and prepped by my pal who works for the DAMS leMans team so it was a proper car , not a road car with Alcantara seats and an ashtray ! Whatever spanks your monkey tho as far as the sound goes , V8s annoy me with the drone and lack of revs , i had a TVR V8 powered 7 type thing and fookin nearly deafened me at Goodwood , bloody thing .

Benn 304R Yeah that was the one - awesome car looked well fast when it was going, i helped him push it off the roundabout, and when he popped the engine.. wow, i could have eaten me dinner off it!

Though i don't think he was too impressed when some muppet started spraying water through his drivers window just after it happend - who would be!

How did he get it back?

Not standard Granada driveshafts though

DRIVE SHAFTS

Specially manufactured drive shafts are made in S155 steel more commonly found in Formula 1 cars

Half the weight of a conventional Ford unit and capable of taking up to 1000bhp

Joints at either end are Lobros ball type which bolt directly to the transaxle and hub flanges

These loonies at Z-Cars have now fitted one of their twin bik engines into an Ultima giviing 1020bhp/ton That is 30% increase over the recent record winning Ultima. They haven't put it up for any independant tests yet, but I can't wait to see it

What bike engine are they using?

The Ultima weighs just under a tonne with the V8 motor and must be a similar weight with two bike engines.

Each engine must be producing around 500bhp

Reckon the two turbos must help

Considering the EVO test car managed 7mpg or something perhaps a YB aint that bad.

Some guys over here are building one each and are fitting aluminium v8, turbo at aim for 1000+ bhp.
