yes, will get marginly hotter, as its like a miny rad, plus mean less water in the system.

but surly it also means less distance to flow and more time being cooled?

swings and round about, less water means the water will heat up quicker and cool down faster.

more water means it will heat up slower and cool slower.

does the car have a cooling problem at the moment? if so you should fix it rather than try n cover up the problem like yu're doing...

unless you men you wanna remove the matrix to save weight for a track car or summink? or you have a fettish about being cold in the winter?

bypass it then

but if that isn't your problem, then you're just covering up other issues that still need looking at

are you 100% confident that the system is properly bled?

also have you checked to see if your h.matrix is blocked?

oh, and have you tried a new header tank cap

do you have a big intercooler blocking the rad or anything?

also what are you using to check the temp, just the standard gauge? or an aftermarket gauge?

i have checked the gauge and its working fine but have put an after market one on to and changed the sender.
the header tank cap is new

think ive bleed the system properly
i do have a big intercooler bu thats not the problem as its not blocking the rad really.
im taking thte matrix out to try it as it was coming out anyway.

thanks

even for track car, i would leave the heater in there - it can be useful for demisting during those wet track days when it gets all steamed up in there

My matrix split about a month ago

So just joined the 2 hoses together in the engine bay

Does get a little hotter in warm weather, but drops like the titanic when its cool

Oh and I no longer have any heaters

youll have to pump the hoses a lot with your hands (prefably wrapped ina towel or summink coz they get VERY hot) also youre suposed to let her run up to the point when its just about to boil out of the header tank, then quickly put the cap on n kill the engine, then let it all buble about etc for a sec... whe the level starts to drop again slowly open the cap a bit to let the air out, dont let the (VERY VERY HOT) water escape tho if you can help it...

keep repeating this till no more air comes out then just make sure the water level is always kept topped up (as the water cools the level will get lower)

you may have to repeat this process LOTS of times

i spent most of the morning saturday bleeding mine as its a pain in the arse to do sometimes, and i kept making mistakes n letting all the fookin water boil out
