Default BRAKES.....arrrggghhhhhh HELP - Semi floating axle and....

Fixed calipers...

Apparently there is play in the semi floating axle set-up that cause the brake disc to move on the bearing thus causing the pads to go back into the calipers.......hence why my brakes screw up...

The fix is floating rear brakes like standard 4x4 ones or having fully floating hubs at about 500 quid each side.....

Anyone know about this ?

Yep - Heard of the problem quite a few times before.

AP calipers or fully floating shafts usually solve it.

Maybe give the guys at http://www.prepfab.co.uk a quick call for some advice ??

I have had to put 2 10lb check valves in my rear brake lines to stop that ,
Nothing more scary than no pedal comming up to a fast corner

I have a residual (sp) pressure valve in the front...will putting one in the back line solve this then ?

As it sounded more involved ...
