what sort of a/f ratio do wankel engines like? do the rotor tips of a rx7 engine like a/f ratios rich?

VERY rich, only takes mild det to destroy them, low 10s AFR if i remember right, but then again rotory combustion is ver inneficint compared to piston engines so you get a ton more exhaust gas with them no matter what.

From what ive been told by rotory experts, rotory mapping, esp the ign, is very different to conventional mapping, and not easy at all to get right.

It might be worth speaking to Ant at Sterte garage, hes a sound bloke and although not a mapper, he does know the ins and outs of how modded RX7s are mapped, so could help.
