was at croft and i think the sound deadening must of moved on to the exhaust and caut fire

Glad it wasn't worse , Bruce had a similar thing at Brunters once.

 

That sound/heat proofing around the exhaust is a coont for doing that as i found out on a saff a few years ago! Since then i always remove it and bin it.
Alan your car sounded and looked spot-on prior to that and was popping some nice flames at the bottom of the pit straight every lap

lost 4years ncb so couldnt afford to get another one.insurance decided to make it salvage only so i wasnt even allowed to keep and repair her thats why i got my bike license and havent looked back since although i feel a cossie purchase coming on sooner rather than later

dunno how it happened stopped with car running to collect my mate,he jumps in and i drive towards a t junction,car cuts out when i back off throttle from maybe 20mph turn key off then back on and flames instantly licked out of the grill and up over the bonnet mental
fire brigade werent all that quick oh and the RUINED the interior by drenching it all in water too took the car home with massive puddles in it

so alan i wouldnt worry about what yours did i'd be glad it never went totally
