Default Series II fuel usage!!

Hey Guys,

How much fuel do your series II's use !

Ive just had mine back on the road, its been off the road for 4 years having stuff done!!lol

What sort of mileage do you get to £20 worth of petrol?

Im getting 100 miles per £20, car's been setup on the rollers, all's ok, just wondering what you guys get!

Most "chipped" RSTs are heavy on fuel as they run rich at cruise - its a side effect of the metering head adjustment which is needed to provide enough fuel on boost. Mine cruises with an AFR of 13.4 : 1 which is quite rich. Nothing you can really do about it mate apart from go back to standard!.

Cheers

Stu

Ahh i see, before i didnt have it chipped, and i used to get nearly 75 miles to a tenner. Theres no way im going back to standard, i love the pull of 180bhp.

Would other injection systems like omex or cossie management make it any better on fuel?
I understand that the bosch systems on series II's are well outdated, and arent very efficent!!

My KE RST uses £10 for 45miles

My weber setup motor, running 50bhp and 12psi more uses £10 for 50miles

Prices are around 90p a litre

Hey Jano

So cossie management will get my better miles for my money ??

I can remember seeing a RST a few years ago with a LPG conversion on it, anyone else
heard of any ?? I used to have LPG on my XR2i, used to run around all week on £12.

What sort of problems might i encounter on a RST fitted with LPG??

IMO gas will not lube the pistons and rest of the engine like petrol does for this reason an engine would wear quicker
