Default can you tell if a cam is fooked without removing?

are there any tests for checking a cam without removing it? ie just turn engine over by hand and measure how much the lifters/pushrods move?

ps i would be attempting this personally, just curious to know if its summink you can test for...

If so use it on valve lift

You drop it off saying the cam might be up the spout can you check it, they will charge you for it then tell you need a new cam. Just get the whole engine checked over. will cost you less.

what makes you think the cam is fooked jim? if the engine rattles and generally feels under powered thats normal for a 4i. try wearing ear plugs.
