Adaptor bellhousing £175

http://www.magnum-engineering.com/SVServRep/index.htm

The TVR's used a T5 on the back of a Rover V8 and if you could find a belhousing it would be a stronger box.

I did the conversion a few years ago using a 4.5 RV8/T5 and it was a great car to drive.

The P6 heads don't flow too good compared to the later ones and the cam is prone to wearing so badly that performance goes to pot but the hydraulic lifters keep it nice and quiet so you don't know its fooked. You can put the late heads on the P6 bottom end giving better flow and keping the 10.5:CR

been looking at this conversion myself, magnum do a bellhousing for the T5 to Rv8

i've seen second hand tvr bellhousings fetching more that magnum charge for a new one

i'm pretty sure if u fit a cossie T5 you'd be able to get away with using a cossie prop too, you just need to sort out the rv8 sump, engine mounts and gearbox mount (all the bits are available from magnum off the shelf) i've got a price list somewhere....

they also do shorter water pumps, hydrolic (sp?) clutch conversions and suitable headers etc, basically everything you need doesn't come cheap though if you price up the lot.. inc a T5 !!

plus the 3.5 v8 don't make much power, but does sound nice... ideally you need to source a 5.0 tvr lump

TVR belhousing

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...983802513&rd=1

I used cossie rear axel, prop and T5 with adaptor bellhousing.

Engine pic from my 3 door V8

A 4.5 Rover/TVR V8 is soo much better than a YB engine with the same horsepower it's unreal.

Also had a Ford Classic consul with a wade blown Rover 3.5 which was fun in a weird kind of way.

Bhp 5.0l tvr claimed =320 standard. As above id not use the p6 heads
go for the latest castings you can get hold of . The real late heads only have 4 bolt holes per pot , no outer row, the next best ones have a casting
number 0216 and flow better than the p6 ones , also as above id go straight for a TVR t5 complete, with bellhousing, and hydraulic release bearing, you can pick the whole lot up for £500-600. wich is cheaper than
trying to source all the individual bits. good luck with it .

RS2300 4x4 did you have any clearance problems with the rad? in fact which rad did you use? i take it there are no bulkhead clearance issues?

if you use the tvr t5 doesn't that put the gearstick further forward? as its 70mm further up the casing than a cossie one....

What about ford 5litre V8 into sierra?

Does anyone still sell the engine mounts etc?

Or is it an easy job to knock some up?

Making engine mounts is always easy, its hardly rocket science is it!

Things like headers that clear the bay are far more of an issue.

True. Headers shouldnt be a problem, looking at pics of South African XR8s, room for 2 T3s if use a basic log manifolds

that magnum place will do mounts and headers etc for the ford v8, i did email them asking for prices and availablity but never got a reply.

the ford 302 is a great engine and cheap! Real Steel will sell you a brand new 345bhp crate engine for just shy of 3k !!!

i've looked at the second had market for 302's and a complete standard EFI motor(260-280bhpish) is aroundt he 500 notes mark, tuning parts are pretty cheap too!

sadly making engine mounts are behond my skill's but if anyone fancies the job i'd buy some

No clearance trouble with XR4x4 rad and P6 waterpump, alternator brackets etc.

4x4 rad kept the 4.5 cool no problems.

Dirt cheap Ali V8 with around 400 bhp.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...353942&rd=1&ss

0 feedback would require caution, but this is VERY cheap.
If were not moving house I would buy this for myself.

Keep away from this ebay v8 ,Classic Scam.

Registered the day of posting, ship worldwide, location London England.
Private bidding, no feedback.

There have been a lot of these type recently, all V8, all private bidding, all low start price.

A guy called Jim Deberry in the states knocks out XR8 conversion kits. He was involved in the original XR8 design project and his kits are just all those parts. Bascially allows you to fit any small block Ford V8 but -very- expensive prices.

Would be interesting to see a turbo'd Mustang lump in a Sierra
