Defi guages? Anyone know about them??
Just looking at the Defi website about their guages, and it looks like you need to have the control unit linked up to sensors then the cu linked up to the guages.
But it looks like you can only link up the sensors if there is already a sender that would normally send readings to the cars ECU.
So how can I hook them up to my XR2 as the engine has no ECU senders on it Or can I use any typical sender you can get for any normal guage?

Was looking at some today at GT Battle.... and a chap on the Pf stand had some installed in his subaru....
Ohhh.. I got to get myself some of them!! The ones that black out and have just the lights going.... I'm in love....
The chap had a control unit linked to all the gauges and could do all sort of things, like record, replay, get best of....

They are the best gauges you can buy IMO.
You need a Control Unit to run any of the Defi Link Meter Gauges and Link Meter BF Gauges.
The Control Unit can run up to 7 Gauges.
You can have a single display unit instead of individual Gauges, but you still need the Control Unit and a sensor for each area you want to monitor (the Sensors are quite expensive, so not many people go this way).
Each Gauge comes with the correct sensor and all the parts needed.
They run as a total standalone system, so irrelevant to how primitive/advanced the car is. As long as you can supply it with a 12 Volt/Negative Earth Supply, and an connection that is live when the lights are on, thats all you really need. You obviously need to fit the Sensors somewhere. Some are easy to sort, some aren't, depends on how resourceful you are!

The only problem is there is only 3 guages I could use on that list, oil pressure, oil temp and Water temp. Could use the tacho meter too, but its not on your list.
Unless I wanted exhaust gas temp.... which wouldn't be much point. Fuel pressure? I'm running a carb car so no point in that, and boost... well aint got a turbo so...
And they dont do voltage,
Oh well might just have to settle for the three then

Seriously, that's real good value!! I guess the ones I'd "need" are the water temp, oil temp, oil pressure, boost and maybe an air/fuel ratio.....
Ok, got to get saving now.... until the man says there are more important things to do on the car first....

That's what I thought, but I found somewhere to put my Fuel Gauge
Ginge - I have the Defi, but also use the Greddy Boost Controller for reading over 29psi, that reads up to 3 bar, so I should be safe lol
