I got a Greddy Profec B Spec II. They can be picked up dirt cheap on Ebay. I while ago I saw them for less than £175

It's a good bit of kit for the money. Also one of the better controllers around and easy to use, the hi/ lo boost seeting is very handy.

Thanks Mrs Frog

Make no mistake, Mr C's type is one of the, if not, the best on the market, but it comes at a price...

I only bought something cheap to aid mapping, with a future plan to run air injectors, but now I like the Greddy so much the Air Injectors are staying in my cupboard lol

Ok quick question, dont ALL boost guages basically do the same job (as in measure boost)?
So you could buy a cheap one & it will do the same job as a mega expensive one?

its about the acuracy, think of it as a watch

you can buy a sekonda for 30 quid or a rolex for 3k and the difference is one keeps time, when i was a traffic warden the we had to do a time cheack every morning at 7:05 and if we went on holiday for a week i noticed my watch would be out by 2 seconds

imagine a boost gauge thats not acurate and it gets weeker and weeker, you set the boost too 30psi and notice ya loosing boost so adjust it a tiny but and then ya melt down

or the actuator pipe comes off but ya not aware and the boost gauge dont actually read over 1.5bar when you think it does again meltdown

also some boost gauges are electronic aswell as mechanical

So it's best to go for summat like a Defi (which has a stepper motor) rather than a normal boost guage?

But a digital one like the Mines product is the best overall? (being digital cant give a wrong reading).

Just out of interest, what Omex ECU did you go for, the 500?

eh, a digital reading is only as acurate as the sensors calibration

when i was talking about my watch loosing 2 seconds a week that was a digital watch

think defi's are good but well over priced

autometer are good gauges ( thats autometer not autogauge or any other wankish name rip off they think of )

i got a autometer boost gauge in the cossie thats cool, the fitment is a important part too

digital gauges look very very 80's with ferrari sun glasses and calculator watches

yeah was the 500, it was christians 500 to be exact

it would have worked as i had to solder the fooking wires up to make it work

dont ya rememeber me posting to all the PC nerds asking what order the wires went and the helpfull replies i got was "why do that when ya can buy a wire sealed"

none of em fooking knew

i still got it and i MIGHT use it if i go aftermarket and that has the same port

thats why i bought the blitz id3 power meter and boost controller , its cause it worked as christian had it pn his

but i payed 250 for the boost controller brand new and 70 for the power meter , the instructions where in every lanuage but english though

AJ - don't get confused.

Defis are digital gauges with an "analogue" style readout.

The problem with digital readouts is that they can miss boost spikes because of how quickly they sample and update - not the end of the world.

I also find digital readout gauges a little more difficult to read at a quick glance.........
