with these sumps they hold 7 litres of oil and they will stop surge because the gates open which ever coner your turning and the same when your braking and accelerating....the gates open and close accordingly
this would be an over kill if your not going to use your car on track
trust me i was getting surge on track with my road tyres ..if i went out on slicks without a big wing sump of any kind my engine would be fooked by now !!
this sump is upto the job and the same kind was used it the touring car days
with these sumps they hold 7 litres of oil and they will stop surge because the gates open which ever coner your turning and the same when your braking and accelerating....the gates open and close accordingly
this would be an over kill if your not going to use your car on track

HOW MUCH OIL DO YOU RECON THE EGGENBURGER BIG WING SUMP HOLDS,
AS IT DID NOT COME WITH A DIP STICK AND MY MATE EMPTYED IT WHEN I WAS NOT THERE AND I AM NOT SURE HOW MUCH TO PUT IN,
SO FAR GONE FOR 6.5 LITRES BUT I STILL FEEL IT NEEDS A LITTLE MORE,
ANY IDEAS,

Hi Martin
i would say looking at your sump maybe 7.5 to 8/9 litres not sure really but thats at a guess....
i think you can use a dip stick only to check the oil tho .. it's a bit similar to mine
i have to use a dip stick just to check the oil level .....i have a shortend dip stick which i am useing as a dummy
the reason why i can't run a full dip stick is because it will stop one gate from working properly ......
i would say yours is a gated system aswell but in a bigger version
don't forget the touring car they need proper stuff on them and looking at your sump looks pukka

i have put 7 litres in it and it sounds a little tappy,
but maybe its a little worn,
measured it last night and its 15"x 7.5 x 3.25 inches
is this bigger or smaller then the ones you do?

maybe thats why mine did not have a dip stick init then?
it was fitted with a small blank of cover, i thought maybe it was to stop the drivers playing with it and the mechanics would have had the dip stick in the pits,
so i may need to take my new dipstick out and put the cover blank back on,
