Wiring in a Group A Fuel Pump......???? HELP HELP HELP
Hi Guys,
I wired in my Group A Fuel pump using 30amp wire and fuses, and a relay as described in an earlier post. Got everything wired up, but one final question. On the Group A Pump there is a simple Pos and Neg connections, Obviously I have wired into the relay, and used the original pump Pos Wire, to activate the relay, and the new Power Wire to the Relay and then to the pump's positive connection. The relay is earthed out ok again using 30amp wire.
My question is....... Do I use the original pumps earth wire (Wire that originally went to the - connection, and connect it to the new pump. ?????????
If you get what I mean !!!!!
Ok on mechanical, abit on electrics

Ok, so tell me if I got it correct......
Take out the connector (Where is that located)....... and go from the negative terminal on the pump direct to earth (Either Chassis, or ideally back to the battery)...... Have I got it right ??????
Where exactly is the connector located....?????
Jim

Yep, out in the garage now, and can't find it........
Do i just disconnect the original earth wire, and leave it hanging, and then use a new 30amp wire from the negative terminal on the pump direct to earth (Chassis or back to the battery)

that connector may be specific to a 3 door jim, dont know. was behind the panel at the back of the boot about a foot further up the cables that pass through the grommett in the boot floor. needless to say mine was a somewhat crap contact and got rather hot and burned the plastic
