hi all, my clutch is about 3years old and is not slippin, but is very hard to get into gear and is even worse when i put it in reverse iv just put a new cable in and its made no differance
i was thinking the clutch release bearings were fooked or just not doin the job? if i put it into geat with out the engine running it glides thru the gearbox just fine, but as soon as you start it up and do the same you can feel it pulling forward
any help on this please
thanks

rossco i dont think it is mate , cus the linkage is responsable for the way it goes into gear meaning when you change gear from 2nd to 3rd you dont get 1st, as when i had this clutch put in i had to take it back and had the linkage sorted as it woundant change gears correctly

whats it like when the gearbox is warm as if its worse then ya low on oil, if its no different the release bearings on its way out, good news though as it dont happen over night, takes a while before it finally goes
, save for a alcon 6 paddle and do the job when ya get time, my car was like it for months before finally going and that was due to excess wieghts in the car ( fooking hoooge engine crane, tool box and 5 extra wheels
)

it doesent get any worse when warm, my feelings is that its the release bearings, when you feel the lever at the gearbox end should it have a little play up and down as mine does, and were can you buy the alcon clutch mate as i will do the job myself
thanks

Is it just happening in reverse gear or when changing through all gears?
Sounds like the clutch release bearing if it is through all the gears - I've had it a couple of times where I've had to double de-clutch to change gear. Replaced the clutch with new one and the problem was solved!
If it's just reverse then I'd say it was gearbox/linkage.
Could be wrong though!
Cheers,
Andy
