Default O.M.F.G my car - it starts!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, you did read correctly

For those that don't know (most of you) I bought it in January with a blown engine with a view to get it running again and to learn a bit about mechanics and car stuff in general (most I've ever done before is put some water in the washer bottle in my Escort ).

So I bought a replacement, fitted a new clutch, swapped the gearbox and transfer box over, fitted the turbo and re-fitted the engine and today at aproximately 16:20 today my Pulsar burst into life

To say I'm happy is the biggest understatement in the world EVER!

I've still got a few bits to re-attach, driveshafts, front crossmember, anti roll bars etc and the brakes need stripping and cleaning up but I'm well happy.

Still needs setting up too, hopefully Gary @ APT will see to that

Anyway there's a few old pics at http://www.leetfighter.com/~jamz/gallery/ and I'll upload a little video I took when I started it for the first time later.

you done well there m8 , the SR20DET is a bad engine to remove as far as datsuns go m8 , i know i worked for them for nye on 10 years , that box is one heavy mo fo ! the transfer is a heavy git an all , the old mill looked fooked on the head anyway , the 8 cam lobes on that type of head are really dependant on plenty of oil changes as the HLA's fook up for fun there was some modified items out at one point !!

good luck m8

cheers mark I'll have a look for the bolt

Those little clever Nissan car designers certainly made use of every available space in that engine bay, there's no room left over whatsoever in there.
