Why would you want to run ALS without management

Because, my setup can't control Anti lag, and it's expensive to convert to management that does just for the sake of anti lag.

How can you make something?

The ECU needs to retard timming by 32 degree then bypass enough air through the throttle body and supply enough fuel to run + psi of boost

not that hard Jano, could be done with a little string, a few carefully placed pieces of MDF and some careful thought.

no diss to you Rick I seem to remember you're an electronics guru (?) so no doubt you could

Also once the ALS is running/switched on the vaccum is cut out, so unless your running a pedal box or quick to switch off you'll have NO Brakes!

ALS is pointless for roads IMO but fun

hence why youre gettin it rad!!!completely useless, just like running a 1.6

look up a website run by a company called gatekeeper fella, its got this stuff on there,is also a boost controller, runs an extra injector for the fuel, retards the spark and opens a bypass valve for the air, pretty straight forward.

i can think of at least 4 ways to retard the ignition. Interesting about the brakes though, rally cars not run servos at all? Still have brakes with no vacume, just bloody hard to press

No i havent but only from what ive been told , im going to be running it on my track car, but im going the whole hog, maram shafted turbo, with head work on the exhaust side of things in the head, been told that unless you look after the ALS (not have it on at every minute possible ) you'll fuck the turbo etc

What the brakes like then jano ?

If you have fwd you will struggle with ALS on going round corners as it is hard to control, at silverstone i had to switch it off round the corners as i couldnt give part throttle due to the engine being on boost. On the straights its wicked as you have no loss in revs or boost when changing gear..

The braking is fine, i run ST170's on the front and 4x4 rears. With ALS on, when off throttle the engine will still drive as you are still passing air and fuel.

Sort of like left foot braking while trying to stop and still pressing the gas.
Hard to explain without having driven a car with ALS.

I'm not a lover of anti-lag at all -should remain on the rally cars where it belongs and is needed.

The problem is, it's a performance enhancement, fine, but there are very few tracks in the UK that'll let you get away with the noise, and if you have it on a road car, then what for?

Pod - fine. Road - what kind of turbos are you people running that the lag is that excessive?
