Yep just keep throwing it in until it starts to come out. I always buy in 5 litre bottles as it works out cheaper

75/90 semi synthetic for me - changed 4 times per year

MUST be done on flat ground. I work on 3.1 Litres. I always use an Oil Syringe as this allows the Oil to be 'Pumped' into the Gearbox, which makes sure it gets into all the Nooks and Crannies.

Also, how much you put in, depends on how much of the old stuff you got out (unless of course the 'Box has been rebuilt!!).

Glad you sorted it BTW!!

Cheers C&B, it was a rebuilt box, since doing it It been suggested to jack the front of the car up as high a possible so you can get a bit more oil in?

Putting excess oil in will possibly throw it out of the breather tube under pressure. Its not the nicest smelling stuff in the world so I never ever do it like that.
