Default ZETEC TURBO FORGED PISTONS OPTIONS?

looking at a set for a 1.8 16v zetec turbo running 8.2.1 comp ratio

been told arias pistons do a set but can't find a supplier!

looking at my options as prescent

standard rods with ARP's should be good for 250 brake?

cheers guys

AFAIK Arias don't do 'off the shelf' stuff apart from standard applications and overbores. They are however prepared to custom machine pistons to your spec. There is a form to fill out on their website, once filled out, it takes about 4-6 weeks to deliver your pistons. Price is about 600 pounds, you can call for advice they are very helpful. Take a look at American piston and rod combinations, off the shelf for 2.0 Zetec turbo. CR is quite high, but you could get them dished a few cc and they would be great. Forged rods come with them so no need to worry about something not fitting. the price is really good too.

admitted they cock up big time pistons where machined for Z.V.H NOT full 16v Zetec!,that was the cause of my SLIGHT RATTLE

full refund for cost of pistons & machine work. . cheque in post

also gona meet my costs for building a new short mota as mine is now fooked

not a bad result, glad its sorted now,i have had nothing but greif with these pistons since last December

need to go shopping now for some new ones

delt direct with burton not ctm buddy

guy i spoke to was very very helpful & understanding & this issue should'nt of happened if sales people asked the right questions & got the right answers before sending pistons off for machining not just assuming that i was using a c.vh head

maybe thats the cause of you rattle as well matey

yeah would be good idea to get together for a group buy,let me know what info you find out regarding replacements

spoke to ian Howell the other day do me a set of arias forged to my spec for approx Ł550ish,not sure how fast he can get a set machined though!

trying to look on web search for other types & makers, not much luck the moment

they did offer me a new set but i am scared of this problem rearing it ugly head again so going to take money & run me thinks

Iam a little confused, why have the Accralite pistons would cause a rattle and are not the right pistons for your engine?

didnt just cause a rattle, as they expanded the piston height grew and ended up clouting the head!

thus fooking the bore nicely and all the bearings

and ultimately leading mine to smoke like a coont

Sounds more like a dodgy bit of measuring rather than crap pistons, I know Steve Bayliss in his Orion turbo does not seam to have any problems with them

that may be the case, im suspecting that the pistons i was sold are not forged but standard 1.8 zetec pistons, as jay was as well, his were machined wrong.

im not knocking accralite as a manufacturer cos i know others are using them in other applications with success, unfortunately burtons seem to have mis-sold them as forged or good enough for turbo application. which they obviously arent
