That is considerably harder than on my 1400kg track-day Escort .

It depends on what dampers, spring length, car weight and usage they are as to what rates you run, so it's not that simple .

Howver, the person you bought them from "should" be able to advise you .

for sprint racing on tight tracks, i felt 250lbs on the rear was too soft

changed the springs at lunch time and gained nearly 3 seconds just by changing the rear springs

I run 325lb front and 171lb rears on LEDAs, which have MUCH higher damping rates than the AVOs though.

I found that anything above 200lb is WAY to hard for a road car on the back (even on my 1275kg Sapphire). Also 400lb springs on the front of this were fine on track, but caused understeer on the road.

I would try 350s on the front and 175s on the rear.

250s on the rear on a road car will result in lost fillings .

agree with mike... my 225 rears RUINED the car... hated driving it on anything other than a 100% flat surface! even the motorway was a pain as you were rattling so bad on the joins in the road!

Iv just taken the 350 springs off the front of my 4x4 saff as as they were far to soft for sprints and the car dived too much under braking

I just picked my car up from A1 rally sport last night where they have just fitted 450 springs to the front on billies from the drive home it does feel a very harsh drive

But i dont drive it on the road much so who cares

im with tony on this - but you prob will have no idea what we are on about

the setup for a road car is very dependant on so many things its untrue, what most people forget about is valveing. the spring rates can change so much with valving, and also piston diameter affects damping rates via valving, all this is even before we get to spring rates.

ive spent over 8 years experimenting with bilstein inverted tube units before i found a damping rate and spring rate i can use on tarmac and gravel ( not the same unit btw) but for me to tell you what rate and spring you would have to a, have the same weight of car, b, have the same unsprung weight as i have, c, have the same damper units i have, d, have the same conditions i have, e, drive like i do, do i need to go on ???

springs cost fook all , damping in very important and to change can mean a full set of dampers , speak to the manufacturer not the supplier tell them the spec and use - get them valved specific
