While were on the subject of fuel a garage near to me sells genuine leaded 4 star which is about 99.xx rated. Is it worth me switching from Optimax plus additive as the car is mapped using this mix ??

no compression from the flame front... there is no flames working out from the spark plug is there?

Yeah, but you like Star Wars for heavens sake

Back OT

Those pics remind me of some I saw a few years back at City University. They had a bike engine, with a window mounted on the side of the Pistons, so you could see the flame burning.

Ok optimising engines so they burn as little fuel as possible in interesting technically, but still really boring
