downloaded a few albums latley but they are not recognised and end in .rar ??

some are mp3 but dont have a mp3 player

if they end in .rar you need a program called WINRAR TO unzip em, dunno if winzip will extract em, as i only use winrar now anyways.

if they are mp3 they should play in media player or winamp etc

i downloaded winrar3 from supernova and it wont open cause windows cant find the program to open it

if you got winrar, and go to the file you downloaded and right click and select "extract here" what happens? cos the archive may be corrupt, or maybe all you need to do is rename the file from .rar to .mp3

yea do as the bloke says above and download WINRAR from the winrar site! i used to download albums... rather buy em now as it's to much agg.
mp3 files can be played on your windows midea player... or make a file up for them and stick em all in there, that way when you come to burn off CD's you know where they are!

one thing tho, maybe go back to where you downloaded it, just to see if it said the file should be extracted with rar or renamed.

nowadays a lot of mp3 albums Alan and myself get at work are actully .ogg's wicth need converting, after extracing also so best to check if there were any specifc instructions

Extract with winrar, then use something like Nero to convert from MP3 to audio files which when burned to disc will play on your CD player.

IIRC 196kbs files and above are near CD quality with 128 being MP3

NERO??? i didnt know ya can convert mp3 to normal??? i have nero 5 with the update does that do it?

open nero, and select to make an audio cd, then browse to your songs, drag them in and select burn, Nero will do the rest mate

Get the turbo nutter bastard version of Nero 6 from a bit torrent site, like www.suprnova.org. This will uncompress the Mp3's (once you've unrarred them...) into the audio format you need to play the CDs in your car. You can also get a version of Winrar from suprnova (or failing that, www.raiden.se) which is somewhat, shall we say, modified, to do all your unrarring for you.

ok right ive downloaded nero6 looks a lot more advanced, came with plugins etc fook knows how to install them lol

downloaded winrar twice now and windows cant open this file


i click use web to search for program to open it with it came up with

.ogg is a format in between .MP3 and .CDA

Clearer than MP3 but as its compressed its not as good as CDA. More commonly used in web streaming applications.

Winamp should play it.
