Im 17 just passed my car test and desparately want to be towing, Has naybody done this and how much did it cost you i have been told £500-£600.

Yup ive done it you'd be about right @ £500-£600 depends if youve towed before, how many lessons you need etc.......

The test is virtually the same as a HGV one- so its very strict!

wait untill you are 21 and take the HGV C+E test, then you get grandfather rights to tow anything with anything (except a bus as you need a D/D1)

But i race stockcars every weekend, and really could do without dependingon my dad constantly, I am more than capable of driving it, and as friends have told me they drove for 3/4 years without the licence and never got caught i would do the same but because we are now only allowed 6 points in the first 2 years i really cant afford to get done!

best dig deep into them pockets then - have a shopround as a lot of HGV training places do car trailer training too

Yeah i would wait but i have the kit here, TD5 defender and beaver tail, so i will have to i suppose, Might see if its a "buisness expense"

Mine was! Also go with a bigger firm, i did it with the local college and it took them ages to get me a test, the bigger companies have lots of pre-booked spaces!

Sounds good i live on a farm im sure i could swing it Otherwise my car will be looking shit for quite a while, And the rs2k fund will take a significant hit.

About 4mths, wasnt in a rush to do it......... failed my first test too! Driving too slow of all things!
