That is what I have used in the past be them genuine ford shells or otherwise.

I think everyone else will agree.

The bearings you have been supplied by ford are really for the good old xr3i engine, when ford upgrade the cvh for turbo use the replace the bottom shell bearings with the plain bearing " with out the grove in the centre"
But most ford agents no longer stock them and I have found them very had to get hold of in the past....... I have run both types of bearings in past engines I have build and it does no seem to make any difference which bearings you end up using..... ? But if you can get hold of the original plain ones that would be my recommendation.

ps make sure you use a Ford oil pump.

Cheers

Steve

So the Ford dealer was right you can only get this type of bearings for the big ends now as they don`t have the plain sheels anymore

Depends what engine you have age wise the ones you have been supplied are right for the mota sport s1 blocks the others 86 on have offset tabs.So you are right in both cases.
lol Hope that helps lol my s1 block has 10 of the grooved shells and that is right cos the solid shell has the tab in wrong position.
This has it benifits as the big ends see oil pressure all the time unlike the 86 on shells.
