The light in the fan controler switches is working and other places, but not the spedometer and rev-counter(dash) also the digital clock os not working...

My mate had this on an Escort cos, i think it was something to do with the fuse box?
Pretty common thing to go on mark 5/6 Escorts...
Need to find out myself, as my girlfriends cabrio is doing the same.

try flicking the indicator switch (sidelight bit on end) on/off a few times, these are also a common failure point on them, the trouble is though, u have to replace the wholle thing (ie both sides) which is about 70 quid from ford

It ISENT a fuse, have checked the wiring loom also... nothing to find...

But got a PM saying there is a print on the backside of the dash that should need changing.... will try that...

do the centre guages (boost oil amps) work?? If they are lighting up fine it wont be the invertor unit inside the clock unit..

They do, there is light in the boost/oil/voltmeter gauges the fan controles and everything else, but not the dash and clock.....???????

I woiuld suggest its the actual guages buggered then..... ??????????
