mine starts on the button, but sounds like it fires on 3 for 5 seconds then clears and run fine, disconnected the cold start valve made no difference
think i know what it is though, my dipstick isnt that tight anymore, and is making my engine sounds like its mising slightly on idle, pushed my dipstick in the other day when running and it ran better!

Before I got the engine rebuilt, if would sometimes take about 4 seconds of turning over...
Ever since it was rebuilt, it literally starts at the turn Even after 12 months of not being started, it was on the button.. I was well shocked..
Might be worth trying another metering unit if ya got loads knocking about

the other day I went for a massive blast... engine nice and hot etc..
Turned off, couple of mins later, tried to start the car again, when it was still baking And nothing, ign light's but starter wouldnt turn..
Let it another few mins, and it turned and started... Assume the starter is on the way out??
Also, last night.. It turned over like it was in slow motion and sounded dead lol.. Put it on charge for literally a couple of mins.. and it was fine?
Went to start it this morning to check, and slow motion again.. Its not the battery as when I put it on charg, the charger has lights.. Green indicates charged.. As soon as I put the charger on, it showed the Green light..
Starter motors fubbered isnt it?

Normally when u go for a mad blast turn it off then go to restart it the starter has been baked by the turbo being so close to it and gets very hot, mine turns over slowly then starts after a few seconds even with a heat shield

have to remember these cars are gettin old and prob never seen a new sensor in its life, ones on engine and metering head
people forget about these when tuning a car but i bet replacing them would bring your car back to scratch again, only downside there fuckin expensive, prob why people dont change them

I got a new engine and starts on the turn of the key, but it missfires like a bitch for about 1 minute, something to do with my fifth injector and the cold start valve being disconnected. Mine also has no auto choke, well it doesn't cut in anyway.

It Wasnt Me!
Mine doesnt move much. . it needs the metering flap held down to start wasnt like this right after i got it set up and afaik i have made no changes to the engine!
anyway, i thought it woudnt start because it dont move often, but took it a good 150mile trip, then next day - wouldnt start off the key, turned over but nope, jus ended up flooding. . so left it and went bk hour later and started with some help of the metering flap held down. . ended up disco'ing cold start valve so it dont flood as easy but still no joy. . fecking pain in the ass keep meaning to try another thermo time switch?

Ask me a question!

Correct, but that does not mean that the TPS is actualy reading the position.
For instance most of the time the throttle is closed or low throttle which means that the metal inside the TPS always wears this part first. So over an amount of time the TPS only reads after a set degree open. E.g when you open the Throttle you will see and increase of 1point for each degree. What happens if it dont read from 0-15 ?????
Worth checking with a multimeter

Yes of course it will. You cannot adjust the TPS to work like this.
The scale is set on a TPS for exactly the right amount of degree open on your throttle butterfly. The way to set the TPS is when the throttle is closed if you touch the Butterfly and open it very slowly you should hear, feel a click. If not undo the 2x screws and adjust the TPS untill it does the above.
If you think it has a break in the Resistance recored from the TPS then change it.
To check this just connect a multimeter to the signal wires and open the Throttle recording the results as you go.
For example if the TPS should read from 30ohms to 450ohms, but only reads from 100-450 obviously there is a problem low down in the scale.
