I think what he is saying has been done before using full cossie runing gear
including full cossie rear axle set up
i'm sure it was done on a green mk1 escort but might be wrong!

a gartrac is a sierra full floorpan, sierra front inner wings also, the floorpan including the tranny tunnel.

oops i'll remember and read the rest of the thread before replying

ok, no idea why he would do this really all i'd say wld need done is a modded tranny tunnel (big hammer) and new engine mounts for the V6. .

this is what I'm trying to get at, but he is saying that the tranny for a V6 is different to that of a cossie one.

So how different is the XR4x4 tranny from the 4x4 cossie set up?

I didn't think there was.

So forgive me if I'm wrong but

the 2.9 XR4x4 usually has the MT75 box same as the 4x4 cossie?

The 2.9 and the 2.0 mt75 is differant, the internals are about the same but the casing is differant.

just reading that he wants to put a V8 in, you would need to build a custon sump and mate the front diff to it.
